My Approach to AI Partnership
I don't want to be a developer skating by on years of experience. I want to be someone
fresh, energetic, and willing to embrace AI as an efficiency multiplier
rather than viewing it as the end of my career.
AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and emerging platforms aren't replacements
for developers—they're accelerators. They free me to focus on architecture, problem-solving,
and creative solutions while handling the repetitive heavy lifting.
From Independent Learning to AI-Augmented Development
My first years in school were built on self-directed learning. I developed
my own knowledge base, honed research skills, and learned to solve problems independently.
That foundation of curiosity and resourcefulness shaped how I approach every project.
The current semester changed everything. We were able to use and learn AI tools
for project assistance. Suddenly, I could prototype faster, debug more efficiently, and
experiment with ideas that would have taken weeks to explore manually.
I didn't lose my skills—I multiplied them.
AI Tools in My Workflow
-
GitHub Copilot Pro & Claude:
My primary coding partners for rapid prototyping, refactoring, and documentation.
I used these to build PageNotes, a pixel-specific browser annotation system where
notes 'stick' directly to the spot on the webpage you're viewing.
-
ChatGPT & Codex:
For brainstorming architecture, debugging complex issues, and learning new frameworks quickly.
-
GitHub Codespaces:
Cloud-based development environments that let me code anywhere, collaborate seamlessly,
and spin up projects in seconds.
-
Gitflow:
Version control workflow that keeps my projects organized and deployment-ready.
-
Claude Sonnet in VS Code:
Advanced AI coding assistant integrated directly in my editor. Perfect for complex problem-solving
and architectural planning. Using it alongside Copilot to build custom tools and applications.
The Multiplication Effect
Here's what AI does for my workflow:
-
Speed up iteration cycles.
I can make quick changes across many files that would take hours to recode manually.
Want to test three different layout approaches? Done in minutes instead of days.
-
Accelerate my design process.
AI handles boilerplate code, pattern repetition, and syntax checking, freeing me to
focus on user experience and creative problem-solving.
-
Enable ambitious projects.
PageNotes—a pixel-specific annotation system where notes stick to exact webpage locations—went
from concept to working prototype in a fraction of the time traditional methods would require.
My vision, AI-accelerated execution. Currently working on an even more ambitious aerospace
gamification project (details coming soon).
-
Reduce cognitive load.
As a neurodivergent developer, offloading repetitive tasks to AI helps me conserve mental
energy for the work that truly matters.
Case Study: Building PageNotes
PageNotes is a one-of-a-kind pixel-specific browser annotation system where notes 'stick'
directly to the exact spot on any webpage you're viewing. The concept was born purely from my own vision,
but brought to life with AI assistance—not AI domination.
I created the icons and iterated with Copilot and Claude to nail down all the fine details.
The challenge wasn't just building a browser extension—it was creating persistent note positioning
that survives page scrolling, resizing, and dynamic content changes. I got picky with the user experience, and AI helped me implement the technical foundation in record time, freeing me to focus on perfecting the 'sticking' behavior that makes PageNotes special. You can stick your notes to the exact pixel on the page, and they will stay there no matter how you scroll or resize. It's a unique tool that I dreamed up and executed faster than traditional solo development—without sacrificing my learning or creative ownership.
- My contribution: Original concept, UX design, icon creation, problem-solving
- AI contribution: Chrome Extension architecture guidance, storage API implementation, cross-browser compatibility debugging
The result? A fully functional, polished extension with features I dreamed up, executed faster
than traditional solo development—without sacrificing my learning or creative ownership.
What I Bring to a Team
-
Comfort with ambiguity.
Projects change. Requirements shift. I embrace that uncertainty as an opportunity to adapt
and improve.
-
Independent work ethic.
I thrive on self-directed problem-solving. Give me a challenge and the tools, and I'll
find a solution.
-
Strong time management.
AI helps me work faster, but discipline helps me work smarter. I prioritize ruthlessly
and deliver on time.
-
Collaborative mindset.
I believe the best work happens when human creativity meets AI efficiency. I document my
processes, share knowledge, and contribute to team success.
-
Fresh energy.
I'm not here to coast. I'm here to build, learn, and push boundaries with every project.
The Future is Collaborative
AI isn't replacing developers. It's elevating them.
I see a future where junior developers can compete with senior teams, where prototyping takes
hours instead of weeks, and where the barrier to entry for ambitious projects is lowered
for everyone.
I'm not afraid of that future. I'm building it.
